The National Endowment for the Arts has selected Joel Iskowitz to be awarded the designation of Master Designer to join the United States Mint's Artistic Infusion Program which creates our nations' coins and medals.

Since his distinction as a Master Designer in the U.S.Mint's AIP, Joel Iskowitz has had 17 of his designs minted for United States Coinage. In 2009 Joel's winning designs included both Obverse and Reverse of the Julia Tyler First Spouse Gold Coin, the DC Quarter Dollar Obverse featuring Duke Ellington and the 2009 Bicentennial Lincoln Cent Reverse (Professional Years in Illinois,3rd Aspect). In 2007 Joel had his artwork for the Dolley Madison Gold First Spouse coin displayed at the White House at a debut ceremony and reception which he attended. In March of 2010 his design honoring the Women Airforce Service Pilots was selected for the Obverse of the Congressional Gold Medal which will be displayed in the Smithsonian Museum. Joel and his lovely wife Suzanne attended the ceremony in the Capitol's Emancipation Hall to witness the Congressional leadership bestow this highest civilian honor on these marvelous heroic women.

For three decades Joel Iskowitz has created artwork that has graced the covers of books, periodicals , journals and postage stamps world wide. He is also an active Air Force artist, having documented missions from Cape Canaveral to commemorative ceremonies in India , China and Japan, with a number of oils in the USAF permanent collection, including a major piece which hangs in the distinguished visitor's lounge at Andrews AFB and prominently at the Pentagon.
